Jazz Recommendations?

Guess not a lot of people like classical. I figured JAZZ goes in the classical section 'cause that's how it works at the bookstore. I'm new to jazz, used to hate it, growing to love it. Anyone got any faves? I like slow stuff...

I also like classical, rock, and jazz, but groups like the Canadian Brass and The Dallas Brass Are just my favorite Groups. Songs like Pachebels Canon in the Key of C. Mozart Life

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart composed more than 600 works before his death at the age of 35. His father, Leopold, was a violinist and composer and gave Wolfgang his first music lessons. Leopold, realizing his son´s talents, dropped his own musical ambitions and devoted himself to Wolfgang´s education and to exhibiting his gifts in the European capitals. Wolf

I have been getting into violin concertos a lot lately. But so far, I'm a big fan of Joshua Bell (just seen him in concert last December). In my perspective, he's one of the best in his generation. But I also enjoy Midori and Nigel Kennedy. They're amazing as well. If you know any other great violinists, please name some. I would love to listen to other artists besides the mainstream ones. And any great but sadly not very popular violin concertos would be wonde

Classical Metal

In case you don't know, there are some awesome metal bands that mix metal music with classical music. (Hang on, don't get scared by the word metal). My favorite one is called Therion. For the recording of their last cd they used 170 guest musicians: An orchestra,a full choir... they even recorded some parts with a real church organ. Well you should try them. You can get some mp3 on their websites. Therion The band I just talked about. [url="http:

Video Game Soundtracks Count As Classical, Right?

I can't believe no one has put anything about all the wonderful Video Game Music out there! Probably the most popular is Halo and World of Warcraft. But you have to admit that most of the stuff from the Final Fantasy Series is really great. And who could forget Xenogears. Probably some of the best music ever writen for a Video Game. But I think currently, my favorite is Mass Effect. Good stuff! Michelle Z.

Best Movie Soundtrack Artists?

So many! First, I gotta start with Thomas Newman. He did stuff like American Beauty, The Green Mile, Erin Brockovich, Pay It Forward, Shawsank Redemption, White Oleander, Cinderella Man, A Series of Unfortunate Events... the list goes on. All excellent music filled with passion and emotion! And then of course there's Danny Elfman! Beetle Juice, Sleepy Hollow, Hell Boy, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (the new one), Big Fish, Spiderman, Men in Black, Edward Scissorhands,
